Logan's Journey to CashFlow FI

I'm Logan, the co-founder of Topia and a passionate advocate for FIpreneurship. Alongside my pursuit of building the ultimate FI app, I embarked on a parallel journey, driven by an insatiable desire to create diverse income streams. From bagpiping to e-commerce, each side hustle I have crafted represents not just a step towards my Cashflow FI goal but a message to others that financial liberation is within their grasp.

My goal isn't merely to reach Cashflow FI myself; it's to ignite the spark of entrepreneurship in others, demonstrating through real-life examples that it's more than possible to build successful side businesses and unlock financial freedom. Join me as I pull back the curtain on this journey, revealing the strategy, sweat, and satisfaction that come with crafting a life on your terms. Together, we'll explore the multifaceted path to Cashflow FI, one side hustle at a time.

An Invitation to the Backstage

As we stride forward, I'm committed to taking you with me on this exhilarating adventure. Through weekly updates, I'll provide a transparent look into all these hustles. Income numbers, successes, failures, strategies – everything will be laid bare, offering you a real-time insight into what it takes to unlock Cashflow FI.

Here's this week's update:

  • Total weekly revenue: $2,100

  • Percentage to CashFlow FI: 78%

The Bagpiping Empire

  • Weekly revenue: $0 booking commission

No bagpipe bookings to report this week. This side biz is a pretty low priority for me. I leave it there ticking away, when books come in, great, when they don't, it's not the end of the world.

Amazon FBA

Product 1: Secret Flasks

  • Weekly revenue: $1,600

  • For my Amazon FBA's Secret Flasks venture, sales this month took a dive, going down by half. I knew things would slow down after the summer rush, but this was a bit more than I bargained for. While I've been rocking the top 10 results on Amazon, I feel the real game-changer will be to bump up my Google search engine rankings. To achieve this, I’m thinking of posting regularly on our YouTube channel, keeping up with social media posts, and adding fresh blog content to our website.

Product 2: Scottish Gifts

  • Weekly revenue: $30

  • Last week was a quiet one for my other Amazon products, I was traveling back to the US, and between adjusting to the time zone and a packed week in New York, I couldn't give them any attention.

Product 3: Prismic Knives

  • Weekly revenue: $45

  • Last week was a quiet one for my other Amazon products, I was traveling back to the US, and between adjusting to the time zone and a packed week in New York, I couldn't give them any attention.

TikTok Travel Account

  • Weekly revenue: $0

  • We made a little tweak on TikTok, changing our handle from 'Your Corfu Guide' to 'Your Greece Guide'. We thought it would be a neat way to attract a broader audience. But it seems TikTok's algorithm needed some time to adjust, and our views and new followers dropped. We missed our goal of reaching 50k followers by August's end, which stings a bit. But, we're optimistic. We'll keep posting, now with a broader Greek theme, and hope for the best.

Boat Rental

  • Weekly revenue: $0

The Boat Rental Business is on a winter break. The summer was fruitful, with us pocketing about 15k Euros in profit over three months. I'm planning to have a sit-down with my girlfriend this week to strategize for the next summer. We both feel that reaching out to the folks who rent out those fancy villas might be a good idea. Maybe we could strike a deal, give them a piece of the pie for every customer they send our way. And, of course, I wouldn't mind seeing our boat rental biz pop up on the first page when someone Googles it.
